Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.
My parents have Verizon FiOS and they went all-digital last summer. As part of the deal, we got 2 'digital adapters' (Motorola DCT700 STBs) free, for our 2 analog TVs that we had connected.
Everything works great until, when there's a blip in the power or something similar and then they stop responding. Symptoms:
-Box turns on but there's no OSD for what channel you're on
-When it's turned off, the audio goes away, LED goes out, but picture keeps playing
-It can't be turned back on, the channel won't change, and it seems unresponsive to any/all commands
-If it's unplugged for 10 seconds, it 'reboots', works properly for one on/off cycle, then goes unresponsive again.
Anyone got suggestions why this has happened multiple times, and how to prevent it? Verizon doesn't know and just says 'it shouldn't happen again' and I'm out of ideas.
